Invocation of Being

Long have we wandered and been apart from her shores.

Long have we flown on unseeing wings.

The eagle soars high on boundless feeling.

Long have we felt groundless without root, or presence.

Long have we been valiant in the name of love.

Long have we allowed nameless fears to limit our possibilities.

The forest continues it's endless cycle of the ages.

Long have we felt alone in expectant solitude.

Long have we danced our own lives to the dream of wisdom

to the unbearable void of ourselves

The tide washes evenly on deserted shores.

Forever we are one.

Forever we ignite our being in the elemental fire of our spirit.

The golden age dweller.

The playful sprite.

The hooded wanderer.

The tortured seeker.

The power of being is ours to hold.

The beauty of now is here for the taking.

Forever and tonight,

We bathe in the majesty of wonder.

Invocation of the Call to the Night

Now let us sing of Mother Night!

Come, thou whose circle is endless flight

She whose body from celestial stars is made,

Upon whose breast our souls are laid

Mystery, black as midnight's heaven far,

Yet brilliant as the silver star.

Thy realm is the void of primordial skies,

Light and life in thy hand lies.

Dreams and soft ease attend thy train

Lead drifting sleep to Orpic strain.

Nikta, decked with starry light

Rests deep silence, in dwelling ebony night.

Goddess of phantoms, of shadow plays

Whose body divides the sun lit days.

She from whom all Gods and man were born

She we seek when the veil is torn...

Be present Goddess with mysteries abound

Let the dark's wisdom by mortals be found!

Invocation of Circle Opening and Closing

Maybe open but never gone

any time, midnight, day or dawn.

Invocation of the Dark Goddess

I am the Darkness behind and beneath the shadows.

I am the absence of air that awaits at the bottom of every breath.

I am the Ending before Life begins again,

the Decay that fertilizes the Living.

I am the            Pit,

the never-ending struggle to reclaim that which is denied.

I am the Key that unlocks every Door.

I am the Glory of Discovery,

for I am that which is hidden,

 secluded and forbidden.

Come to me at the Dark Moon and see that which can not be seen,

face the terror that is yours alone.

Swim to me through the blackest oceans

to the center of your greatest fears—

the Dark God and I will keep you safe.

Scream to us in terror,

and yours will be the Power to Forbear.

Think of me when you feel pleasure,

and I will intensify it,

until the time when I may have the greatest pleasure

of meeting you at the Crossroads Between the Worlds.

Invocation of the Dark God

I am the guardian at the door of death

I am that which lies in wait

I know the future’s breath

I speak with lady fate

I know where all mysteries remain

I have seen the chaos

I hold the keys of the arcane

And I know and control loss

I am everything and nothing

I create balance

Though fearful I am calming

And I am justified vengeance

Understand me

Understand the other part of nature

And you will see

The true and wise picture

Invocation of the Elements

Air, Fire, Earth, Water,

Elements of Astral Birth,

I call you now; attend to me!

In the circle, rightly cast,

Safe from psychic curse of blast

I call you now; attend to me!

From cave and desert, sea and hill,

By wand, blade, cup and pentacle,

I call you now; attend to me!

This is my will,

So mote it be!

Invocation of the Elements (short)

Earth, air, fire, water,

I call you in this matter

Give your assistance to me

In circle I shall remain free

Invocation of the God

Oh hear me my lord hunter,

the great and strong worker,

the king of wild things,

whose sweet voice sings.

Assist me with your strength,

through my workings length

beyond the night, through the day

as I go on my way.

Invocation of the Great Rite

Assist me to erect the ancient altar,

At which in days past all worshipped;

The great altar of all things.

For in times of old, woman was the altar.

Thus was the altar made and placed,

and the sacred place was the point within the center of the circle.

As we have of old been taught that the point within the

center is the origin of all things.

Therefore should we adore it; Therefore whom we adore we also invoke.

O Circle of Stars, Whereof our Father is but the younger brother,

Marvel beyond imagination, soul of infinite space,

Before whom time is ashamed,

The mind bewildered, and the understanding dark,

Not unto thee may we attain unless thine image be love.

Therefore, by seed and root, and stem and bud,

And leaf and flower and fruit do we invoke thee.

O Queen of Space, O Jewel of Light,

Continuous One of the heavens;

Let it be ever thus

That men speak not of thee as One, but as None;

And let them not speak of thee at all,

Since thou art continuous.

For thou art the point within the Circle, which we adore;

The point of life, without which we would not be.

And in this way truly are erected the holy twin pillars,

In beauty and in strength were they erected

To the wonder and glory of all men.

Altar of mysteries manifold,

the sacred circle's secret point

thus do I sign thee as of old

with kisses of my lips anoint.

Open for me the secret way,

the pathway of intelligence,

beyond the gates of night and day,

beyond the bounds of time and sense.

behold the mystery aright,

the five true points of fellowship,

here where the Lance and Grail unite

and feet, and knees, and breast, and lip.

Invocation Of The Horned God

By the flame that burneth bright, O Horned One!

We call thy name into the night, O Ancient One!

Thee we invoke, by moon-led sea,

By the standing stone and the twisted tree.

The we invoke, where gather thine own,

By the nameless shrine forgotten and alone.

Come where the round of the dance is trod,

Horn and hoof of the goatfoot god!

By moonlit meadow on dusky hill,

When the haunted wood is hushed and still,

Come to the charm of the chanted prayer,

As the moon bewitches the midnight air.

Evoke thy powers, that potent bide

In shining stream and the secret tide,

In fiery flame by starlight pale,

In shadowy host that rides the gale,

And by the fern-brakes fairy haunted

Of forests wild and woods enchanted.

Come to us who gather below

When the broad white moon is climbing slow

Through the stars to the heaven's height.

We hear thy hoofs on the wind of night!

As black tree-branches shake and sigh,

By joy and terror we know thee nigh.

We speak the spell thy power unlocks

At solstice, Sabbat, and equinox,

Word of virtue the veil to rend,

From primal dawn to the wide world's end,

Since time began- The blessing of Pan!

Blessed be all in hearth and hold,

Blessed in all worth more than gold.

Blessed be in strength and love,

Blessed be wher'er we rove.

Past the gates of death and birth,

Our inheritance of the earth.

From our soul the song of spring

Fade not in our wandering.

Our life with all life is one,

By blackest night or noonday sun.

Eldest of gods, on thee we call,

Blessing be on thy creatures all.

Invocation of the Goddess

Oh my lady, Oh my lady,

I am your servant, your baby.

On this day, on this night,

I call to you in this rite.

Give me the power and wisdom

to handle what may come,

to do what must be done,

whether sadness, pain, joy, or fun.

Invocation to the Lady and the Lord

She lives and breathes upon the Earth Her wheel spins round the hub of June

She is the web of life and birth Her smile floats softly with the moon.

I come into your garden fair,

To Waltz upon the dew.

Working magic come the dawn.

I come into your forest fair,

To sing among the trees,

To sway carefree amidst the leaves

Come full the noon-day breeze.

I come into your greenwood fair,

To watch the sunlight play,

As it dances towards the dusk,

And sparkles like the fey.

I come into your grove so fair,

The cloak of night comes round,

To gather stars within its sweep

And shine upon the ground.

I come upon your world so fair,

And think on what I've seen

Then fall to sleep with Gods of old,

And dream on moon-beam wings.

Invocation Of The Moon Goddess

Diana, queen of night,

In all your beauty bright,

Shine on us here,

And with your silver beam

Unlock the gate of dream;

Rise bright and clear.

On earth and sky and sea,

Your magic mystery

Its spell shall cast,

Wherever leaf may grow,

Wherever tide may flow,

Till all be past.

O secret queen of power,

At this enchanted hour

We ask your boon.

May fortune's favor fall

Upon true witches all,

O Lady Moon!

Invocation to the Sun and Moon

 Lord Sun, life of day

In your fire-boat gliding through golden rays!

Extend yourself, with hands of light

To us who worship in your sight.

And in your ancient names rejoice,

And hear the mystery of your voice!

Lady Moon, cloud bound,

Of liquid light and pale hounds,

Come among us - Your light diffuse!

Shed your blessings on us who choose

The evening worship by silver flame,

Singing your thousand living names.

A Circle

A circle is what we live in

it is round and flat

A circle is how everything occurs

One thing causing another

It goes on and on.

Life is a circle

birth, life, death, rebirth

round and round it goes

forever and ever on.

A Divine Celebration

now we Dance

A celebration of joy

a movement of chance

a way to employ

away away we dance away

beyond the hill beyond the sea

beyond the woods beyond the bay

our dance stopping trader and army

our dance we share

moving hip, heart, and hair

with the dance of life and cycles

of sweet sounds and symbols

A Net

I am in a net

It holds me spellbound

In magic created by the sunset

Without a sound

Time will never unwind

to set me free

the beauty will always bind

the heart of me.

To me it came

everyone thinks it the same

the beauty of sunset time

they see more importance in a dime.

Element 1

Infant of spring

raise your voice and sing

Child of summer

while you walk you hum

Old man winter

you make everything wither

you like it when people bicker

Element 2

Wisps of wind

what an amazing sight

 the clouds have thinned

to reveal a pure heart’s light

Drops in the waters

pain leaving

Letting go of bothers

shifting and moving

Solid as stone

yet able to shift

not made of flesh and bone

yet my spirits still lift

Burning hot fire

searing and comforting

revealing every type of desire

hopes known and wonders sharing

Elements Five

Earth, the Mother giving birth,

Air so free, inside of me,

Fire higher, ignite your Son,

Goddess below

I listen for what you know

Goddess at my side

Your will I shall abide

Goddess in front

for fun I will never hunt.

Goddess behind

I will always be kind

Goddess all around

You I have finally found.

Movement

The movement of dance

this is not chance

through the movement of time

in the illusion of rhyme

moving through life

denying necessary strife

moving with constant grace

with foot work of lace.

The Lady’s Grace

The lady has grace

It shows in her ability

to keep pace

yet she shows no finality

We must go east

to see the lady

There we will feast

in a spot that’s shady.

Then she will say her name

It will be our ticket to fame.

For what can you say

tis a lovely day

My God

I saw an eagle mount the sky

swoop and circle there on high.

He soared aloft with perfect grace,

the majesty of time and space.

So moved was I at this event

I beheld it like a sacrament.

In dawn's growing light,

below the mountain's towering height

came forth the stag of many tines,

and there stood he as if enthroned.

A lord in all these lands is he:

totally wild and totally free.

I climbed upon a rocky shore

to rest and weary heart restore.

When from the sea there swifly rose

a leviathan so mighty, in fear I froze.

Larger he than many a ship

slowly 'neath the waves did slip.

Peering off unto the West

clouds swirled there in mass unrest.

Lightening split the sky in twain,

And rumbled o'er the droughted plain.

Who starts these engines of the air

and who it is, has their care?

I sat beneath a giant tree of mystery

and pondered on its ancient history.

Who allows that it should grow

from seed smaller than my toe?

Ah! Here little caterpillar, you I spy

by whose law one day, you'll fly?

From restless scene I soon fled,

without a thought which path to tread.

My spirit yearning to break free,

driven by an endless search for Thee.

And though seeking far and wide,

Your face from me doth hide.

The lovely Goddess I know well,

for long ago beneath her spell I fell.

All that live are nurtured by that hand

and life springs forth at Her command.

Oh, How sweet life could be

Great Lord if you would come to me.

The Summer ended long and dry

and autumn entered next to beautify.

Fall finshed the "Dance of the Leaves"

and Winter's beauty the eye deceives.

The Sun's appointed rounds it kept,

the snows of Winter it quickly swept.

Spring bursts forth in glory arrayed,

Her annual promise not betrayed.

Nightly Heavens roll swiftly by,

with dazzling and bright bejeweled sky.

Who is He who adorns the Universe?

Who can thru time and space traverse?

Have I missed some giant plan;

some great and vast design for man?

Does He know that I'm alive

and is there a purpose for me to strive?

Is my life naught but death and chaos

hung from me like the dreaded albatross?

Yet how could I know the Unknowable?

Or conceive of the Inconceivable?

Perhaps there is some divine creating force

from whose laws there is no recourse.

Yet at times It seems quite fickle,

Leveling life and land like a sickle.

"Yes", He speaks, "in you I did place

one spark Divine and by My grace

this atom of My Holy Flesh shall yearn

forever seeking My body to return.

And thru all thy living days,

You shall seek to learn My laws and ways."

Seasons

The cold north wind begins to blow

Lady Winter pulls up her blanket of snow

She tucks the land in nice and tight

The land then sleeps through winter's plight

For several months the land will sleep

But hush my darling don't you weep

Soon...the land agian will wake

Lovely flowers Mother Spring doth make

She sends her warm, nurshing showers

That are full of her growing powers

The snow crocus is the first to wake

From it's head, winter's plight it doth shake

At this time the faries begin thier work

and thier chores they never shirk

They wake the land and paint it bright

So open your eyes and enjoy the sight!

The days begin to grow longer

As summers sun grows stronger

Children play in the sprinklers stream

As summer birds sit and preen.

Summers end is drawing near

The fall colors will soon be here

Autumn comes with it's colorful arrays

And the night begins to overtake the days

Then the days begin to cool

For this is Mother Natures rule

The leaves turn red, yellow, brown and gold

As summers days begin to grow old

Jack Frost prepares his paints and brush

The animals begin their harvest rush

Lady Winter again will soon be here

But don't you cry my little dear.

For the circle of seasons you see

Are meant for the enjoyment of you and me

For Mother Nature is fair and wise

And she always creates a new surprise!!!

My Goddess

Some say the Goddess is a myth

Well, guess who I've been dancing with?

When e'er the Moon is full and bright

and blossoms fragrant fill the night,

a hush befalls the forest scene

as all await the star-kissed Queen.

Tiny lanterns light the sky

Would you believe that fire can fly?

A flicker here, a flashing there.

Blessed be, they're everywhere.

An opera house it seems to me

could not better lighted be.

A fat green frog upon a stump

loudly sings his measured "Grrump"

ever fearful he might miss

his one great chance to steal Her kiss.

A handsome Prince he would be.

"Just you wait, you'll see", says he.

There calls the owl from yonder oak

to summon forth the fairy folk,

Like fiddles fine their voices sweet

A string ensemble quite replete.

This score of music they shall play

t'will ne'er see the light of day.

A clangorus sound rudely arose

from tiny musicians drawing their bows.

The reeded horns like Banshee wails

shrieked while trumpets practiced scales;

yet from this rumbling jamboree

soon would come sweet harmony.

A natty crow upon the green

his feathered black Tuxedo preened

and strutting forth on rocky stage

turned the music's tattered page.

A tap, tap, tap from his baton

and discord sounds are all begone.

A silence such as rarely's been

stills the forest's darkened glen.

No sound from beast or feathered bird

not from sky nor earth is heard.

His baton like Wizard's wand held high

flits like some flighty butterfly.

A babbling brook begins the tune,

humming soft some ancient rune.

Then sweetly joins a cooing dove

who sings of her one true love.

Crickets too sound the beat.

Hear their tiny, drumming feet?

Moonbeams glimmer thru the trees.

Will I see Her? Please, Oh! Please.

Yes, it's Her; She's here! She's here!

I knew the Goddess would appear.

Radiant She stands in ethereal light,

and now begins the Sacred Rite.

The music swells to fill the air;

beguiling, alluring, abandon care!

Her sweet, sweet song beckons us all.

Exciting, delighting; hark to Her call.

Surrender I must and yield to romance.

It's my invitation to the Dance.

How softly her hand folds into mine.

Two hearts now beating in 3/4 time.

Her curtsy so graceful, her face so divine.

Tripping together our dance, Oh so sublime.

Clingingly, breathlessly, my Goddess turns

and for Her, my every fiber yearns.

When before my very eyes

I am struck in dumb surprise

for while we danced this magick night

with Goddess clothed in moonbeam's light

there I beheld the joy of my life;

somehow She changed into my Wife.

Once was Once

Before there was anything

there was chaos

there was everything

all stirred up like a mixed up sauce

Then awareness began

from within it arose

from across the span

looking into the mirror below it froze

she knew she was she

the reflection below she reached for

so she could touch and see

the image she did adore

but stop

the image faded away

from her eyes fell a drop

a tear shed in pay

but great joy was to be had

a change was near

an image came to remove her tears so sad

with a voice she could hear

It was different, and yet the same

it was her match, her mate

and together they came

together did they create

soon swollen was the lady

with the joy of creation

she gave birth easily

to all stasis and action

Every world, planet, and star

did she bring forth from her womb

whether near or far

came to the light of fate's loom

Here she brought forth

Sun and moon, tree and animal

east west, south and north

all her children, both strange and normal

this is the greatness of her gift

joy, seriousness, love, and rain,

will, emotion, justice swift

life, death, fun, and pain

Together with her consort

she guides her children

with his help and support

with blessing whether through triumph or ruin

Love comes willing to the lovesome,

Love holds hands with those who darre.

Love draws nearer to the loveless,

Love leaps lightly up the stair.

Love comes to me after sorrow,

Love awaken my sad heart.

Love bestow your sacred treasure,

Love abide and never part.

Love Tested Prayer

Reconciler of hearts, you hold in either hand

Love’s fine and delecate balance.

I have given the gift of my heart to my beloved

And s/he had given his/her heart to me.

Help us to rediscover the bridge

To love’s own country when we lose the way.

Mature our hearts so that lover nad beloved

May nurture seeds of respect in each other’s breast.

Remove whatever separates us,

That partner may encourage partner,

without hurt, pride or recrimination.

Rather than getting even, help us to achieve equality

Of two loving hearts in one embrace.

Morning Prayer

Oh Great Goddess

Bless this day

Keep me safe and whole

Oh Great Goddess, Bless my path

Help me to act on thy wisdom

Oh Great Goddess

Living on this Earth, Morning Prayer

Bless this day, Sun of fiery light

Bless this day, prepare me for the night

Mother Prayer

I pray to you, O Mother,

Goddess of the Night

You share with us your insight

Your peace, wisdom and understanding.

You are Maiden, Mother and Crone.

You are I and I am you.

I pray to you, O Old ones.

Who have always been and will always be.

Newborn Child Blessing Prayer

A small wave for your form,

A small wave for your voice,

A small wave for your speech,

A small wave for your means,

A small wave for your generosity,

A small wave for your, wealth,

A small wave for your life,

A small wave for your health.

Nine waves of grace upon you,

Waves of the giver of health.

Prayer of Becoming

May clarity grow within Me

Open my eyes to life's many Wonders

May I feel the pulse of all creation within Me

Open my spirit to Awareness

Fill my heart with Understanding

May my life be of service to Earth and the Goddess

Open my ears to the needs of those around Me

Make my hands strong & gentle in Your Service

May I remember always, the Goddess works through Me

Prayer Before Sleep

O Gracious Goddess;

O Gracious God,

I now enter the realm of dreams.

Weave now, if You will, a web of protective light around me.

Guard both my sleeping form and my spirit.

Watch over me

Until the Sun once again

Rules the Earth.

O Gracious Goddess

O Gracious God

Be with me through the night.

Prayer of Oneness

I release my isolation to the Stars

Breathing in the Energy that connects all things

Allowing my body to be caressed by Nature

Filling my lungs with eternal Breath

Filling my senses with the joy of Being Alive

Filling my heart with gratitude for this Moment

Finally allowing my Spirit to soar Free

I am a creation of the Universe

Eternal in my Essence

In time . . . when my life wanes

Returning my body to Star Dust

Held in the body of the Great Goddess

I will again be the Energy of Life

Prayer for Generous Spirit

Hard of heart and self enfolding,

I have kept myself apart,

Now my world grows self enclosing

Pathways vanish from my chart.

Daily comes no invitation,

Sealed in silence answers none;

Comes no answering devotion,

One who friend and stranger shun.

Treasury of gifts unending,

Open now my closed hearts door,

Waken spirit deep within me,

Send me giving’s gift once more.

Prayer for Infertility or Miscarriage

Midwife of souls, send me new life,

To cradle in my empty arms.

In every place I’ve sought a face,

Tried prayers and rite and useless charms.

Mother who calls the children home,

Send down one special soul to me.

My hearth is laughless, cold and drear,

My door is closed and wants a key.

I dedicate my dreams to you,

That down the star-ways you may send

A blessing on my empty womb,

To spark a fire I may tend:

A flame that grows in deepest dark,

A living warmth in deepest dark,

A living warmth within the earth.

Bring spring to harvest at long last,

Midwife my child to living birth.

Prayer of Passage

Oh Goddess

There is great sadness

A cherished one has gone

Emptiness engulfs me

Loss languishes within

Help me bear this grief

Accompany their spirit

Comfort we who grieve

Let us rejoice in their life

May their essence be recorded

In the Great Book of Shadows

Renew our remembrance with joy

Prayer of Urgent Need

O Greatness Hear, O Brightness hark

Leave us not little, nor yet dark

Sleepless Night Prayer

My Heart has been turned away from home, for I am wakeful.

As the desert hours stretch out to the stars,

As an exile banned from the native land of sleep,

I offer this prayer to all who are wakeful and alone

In torment and danger, in fear and in despair,

In grief and watchfulness, in worry or in care,

May the thatcher of sleep make a roof for the wakeful soul,

May the weaver of dreams lend a garment to cover the wakeful,

May the womb of night become a cradle of rest for the restless

May the exile be restored to the house of sleep

Soul Release Blessing Prayer

You go home this night to your home of winter

To your home of autumn, of spring, of summer;

You go home this night to your lasting home,

To your eternal bed, to your sound sleep.

Sleep now, sleep, and so sorrow fade

Sleep now, sleep, and so sorrow fade

Sleep now, sleep, and so sorrow fade

Sleep, my beloved in the rock of the fold

The sleep of seven lights upon you, my dear

The sleep of seven joys upon you, my dear,

The sleep of seven slumbers upon you, my dear.

Sleep, of sleep in the quiet of quietness,

Sleep, oh sleep in the way of guidance

Sleep, oh sleep in the love of all loving.

And be drawn ever onward in love, joy, and light.

Sorrow Prayer

Sorrow sighs and sorrow stays, sorrow is my constant woe

What was bright lies dimmed, all my hopes now homeless go.

What was fresh to me is stale, what was dear to from me reft,

Loss envelopes every breath, sorrow stains the life that’s left

Wise deliverer round me ring, every help your mercy send.

Whilst I breathe I raise a call: Bring me comfort, soul’s dear friend.

Sudden Death Prayer

You have been called from your place of dwelling,

After times, after duties, after separations.

May blessed soul friends guide you,

May helping spirits lead you,

May the Gatherer of souls call you,

May the homeward path rise up under your feet

And lead you gladly home.

Sudden Shock Soul gathering Prayer

Gatherer of Souls, draw to me my scattered soul,

May no part be lost, May no part be straying.

Preserve my soul in Peace, In the soul- shrine of my body.

Vision Prayer

O brightness of brightness, o clearness of clear,

Aisling of vision in my heart appear

Blessed your fragrance, your grace is dew

That my soul falling shall find me anew.

Wandering Loved Ones Prayer

The blessing of my love be ever with you,

Over sea, over shore, over stone.

Winter Prayer

Oh sorrowful Demeter

Goddess who mourns

Night breath, cool and sharp

Bare branches quivering

Beneath the Moon

Crackling snow glistens

Small shadows scurry past

Shallow prints upon the crust

Silence split by whispers

Billowing crystals drift down

Caressing Earth in timelessness

Even in your sorrow, you offer gifts
