THIS IS VERY BRIEF How does Magic Work? I. What is Magic, is it art, science, or a craft? A. Alester Crowley said magick was: "Magic is the Science and Art of causing change to occur in accordance with the Will." He elaborated further with his "Postulate of Magic," as follows: "Any required change may be effected by the application of the proper kind and degree of force in the proper manner through the proper medium to the proper object." 1. You must have the proper kind with the proper degree in the proper manner via the proper medium or tools. a. the kind is the intent b. the degree is the amount of energy or force to be affected c. the manner is the way you collect and visualize and maneuver the energy d. the medium is the way you change your awareness to make you able to do the three proceeding 2. done improperly the magick just will not work. B. Another definition is: “Magick is changing nature to suit our needs via alternate states of awareness” 1. Many people list dance, chant, drugs, and ritual as ways to do this a. dance is good for physical exhaustion but not for stillness. It doesn’t work for the crippled b. chant is good for changing the mind’s EM waves. Not useful for the deaf. c. drugs are the way the ancients went into trance. Not good for the addictive or those of too ill health d. ritual is good for all but the blind and those who tire easy. 2. Mediation is for the control of the mind and absolutely necessary to control the magick a. You can cast accidental magick when emotions outrun reasoning b. without the ability to imagine the results, one can not visualize and make the magick work C. Some say one man’s magick is another technology. 1. This is true. The idea of coaches without horses was magick to people 200 years ago 2. Many things coming to use will seem like magick but that we are just less technologically advanced and there is a sound reasoning behind it all II. Magick Works through energy and process A. Everything in the Multiverse is energy in different forms. 1. There is Matter: which is the physical form of energy 2. Gravity is energy of a type 3. Electro magnetic energy is the energy we are most accustomed to 4. The “Strong” and “Weak” energies of String Theory are the ones we manipulate on the manifestation plane B. The Astral is the level where all is energy 1. Its up to interpretation of the soul viewing it since there we don’t have “eyes” to see. 2. It is a repository for storing energy 3. The Astral is a place where energy can be transferred between forms of energy 4. The Astral is a place where energy can be sent between planes. All that is needed is will C Correspondences are valid in any magick working 1. Everything has a harmonic signature relating to its basic nattier that can assist in the working of magick because it enhances the very thing one is working for. By knowing and applying such knowledge to enhance the energy signatures we are manipulating, the magick is done. a. science knows of the classic A type energy. This is the kind with which we are most familiar b. the correspondences work off the second type of harmonics which while familiar to the witch is a non-definable energy type that scientists ignore as a rule due to the unquantifiable and currently not scientifically explainable nature to the energy type in question. 2. Intent is everything, without intent one would not seek to do the magick 3. Belief is 100% necessary. a. Without the belief that it WILL work it won’t work. b. The recipient must also believe that it WILL work or it may fail still, no matter how much will and energy you put into it. III. In conclusion, using the mind and its powers to manipulate energy at all levels, we can visualize which allows us to utilize magick as the tool to enhance nature and life’s conformation to our will as needed.
My Religious Beliefs I. The Gods A. All Gods are one God and All Goddess are one Goddess and there is one Initiator(ix) B. Each god as described in ancient myths is an aspect of the might and ancient ones but is separate personality that can be appealed to in specific times of need or desire with the various things that god or goddess likes 1. Each god has certain foods, sounds, music, dances, etc that they like that draws them 2. They evolve with us so that the changes needed to be discovered. a. Hermes likes computers, for example b. The Morrigan had a hand in the development of nuclear weapons II. Afterlife and the Soul A. There is an afterlife 1. It is a place we wait before reincarnating 2. It is a plane beyond understanding within the astral. B. We learn lessons for a reason only the gods know. C. Reincarnation is in intelligent species 1. This record can be accessed on the astral 2. We forget incarnations in other species a. unless that incarnation bears direct relevance to the current incarnation and lessons b. many don’t want to remember being other than human and so block the memories C. The soul is the energy force that carries memory, thought, emotion, and will within it 1. it can leave the body when still alive and return (does so when we dream. Goes to the Astral Plane) 2. leave the physical-material plane when the person dies till it can come back III. Magick and Ritual A. Magick is a way to work through the issues we have in life B. Ritual is a way to connect to the Gods better IV. Time, Space, Other Concepts 1. We suffer with it because our minds can not go beyond it 2. Our sciences are trapped with “time” as an aspect used for measure and experimentation 3. If time was not an illusion it would not change the rate at which it appears to move. V. Other Religions (Not complete at all) A. Christianity – No magic and a desire to control the world B. Islam – same as Christianity but with less freedom of thought C. Hinduism – magic is there but I don’t know whats all involved. The oldest verifiably documented religion D. Tribal – has magic and changes from group to group, but its work is of little use outside the culture in which it develops. |
